With it’s rising momentum in the skincare world, I wonder whether it was just another trend or a must-have in my skincare routine. So, when Kino reached out to me to give an honest review of their Kukui Nut Face, Hair & Body Oil/White Gardenia. I was more than ecstatic for the opportunity to find the answer!
On Kino’s website, “Cannabidiol has been shown to help regulate skin’s natural oil production, making it an essential ingredient in all of our products. Stripped down to the bare essentials and expertly combined with a host of non-pore clogging, nutrient dense oils, including safflower, sunflower, kukui nut and hemp seed, our soothing face, and body oil has the potential to fight acne, boost the skin’s own natural defense system, and assist with moisture retention.”
Cannabidiol is a popular and natural remedy for many conditions to relieve pain, sleep disorders, anxiety, and many more.
There is often a common misconception that consuming CBD in any form will give you a “high“. THC is one of the main psychoactive ingredient found in cannabis plants. It is often associated with the “high” people feel mentally or physically. However, CBD itself is not psychoactive. So, when using CBD oil, you can reap the full benefits of the ingredients without being “high”. CBD oil is made by extracting CBD from the cannabis plant, then diluting it with oils such as coconut or hemp seed oil. (healthline.com)
I spent the week testing out the product to see if it would: 1) diminish and treat my hormonal acne, 2) moisturize my skin, and 3) regulate my oily skin.
Results After 1 Week
Kukui Nut Face, Hair & Body Oil/White Gardenia has a very pleasant floral smell and applies smoothly. It is a bit runny and leaves a slight sticky residue but absorbs relatively quickly. It definitely delivered the moisture I needed for my skin this winter.
Since entering my 20’s, my acne has been surging again. Especially, when my menstrual cycle starts. I received my product timely because I got it right before I started my cycle. The first thing, I noticed significantly after 3 days of use was that my acne previously forming were subsiding. When I started my cycle, I noticed no new pimples formed which is considerably rare for me. I usually accumulate a lot of pimples before and during the cycle then it calms down after.
My oily skin wasn’t as regulated as I had hoped. I still had to blot my face throughout the day. However, I might have needed to use the product more consistently and for a longer period of time.
After a week’s use, I really enjoyed using Kukui Nut Face, Hair & Body Oil/White Gardenia. It is very effective as a daily skin moisturizer and brings the added benefit of fighting hormonal acne. The product itself costs $64 which is pretty steep for a skincare product. However, I do think it’s worth the investment as you do get what you pay for. The ingredients are quality, vegan, and cruelty free. I will continue to use the product and share any new updates with you all.
Overall, I think it’s worth the hype!
